About the scholarship and its founder
Why it exists
Andrew Hillman started working at six. His grandfather, the late Henry B. Levine, founded Midway Auto Supply in Dallas, and Andrew grew up in the family auto parts business in Oak Cliff and South Dallas. He learned early that a business is built one customer and one shift at a time.
The scholarship puts $1,000 behind one undergraduate who is ready to start that work. It is funded from his personal funds.
About Andrew Hillman
Andrew Jonathan Hillman is a Dallas senior paralegal and healthcare compliance expert witness, retained through counsel in federal matters nationwide. He is not an attorney and does not provide legal advice.
Before that work, he spent three decades building and running FDA-regulated healthcare companies, then closed that operating career. He is the principal of Hillman Ventures, a private Dallas family office founded in 1995.
He finished high school at Highland Park High School in 1995. He studied at SMU Cox School of Business and Dallas College, and later completed Harvard online courses in Jewish studies.
He is the father of two. He keeps a drug-free and alcohol-free routine built around the gym, the Katy Trail, and road and pedal cycling.
What the award looks for
